Harlequin
This is one of the most elaborate masks I have made thus far.
The basic structure is still paper mache, but there is quite a bit of elaborate overlay technique involved here. Using stiffened fabric, and string I created the raised designs. There are also paper clay medallions embedded on the cones.
The mask is painted with a tarnished, silver metal finish, and is embedded with glass beads.
On wearing it, I found it to be somewhat heavy, thus I have learned from this one, and am trying different techniques to keep the weight down.
