Woodland Box
The woodland box, like the 'woodland bowl', represents my experiments to create objects with a faux wood finish.
Actually, it was this box that began the process of playing with creating the carved wood look to these pieces. Unlike the woodland bowl, which has many found objects incorporated in it (as I have written in my description for the bowl), this piece just has a few wooden twigs used as stems for the mushrooms.
You might notice a hole at the top of the box--that is there because the friend who requested this piece wanted to use it as a tissue box (to fit over a square box of tissues). Obviously, the tissues are pulled out through the hole at the top.
As with the woodland bowl, it has proved difficult for me to get the exact color of the actual object in the photographs. Although, as this piece does not have a glossy finish, it photographed better than the bowl.
